Candidate: Jane Marshall for Commissioner
Candidate Profile: I am involved in the county. That might be about attending a specific meeting, visiting an office, or even about going into the shop in the basement of the courthouse. I attend many meetings in a variety of areas each month. This is the only way I know how to serve the people. I see the role of being a commissioner as one of activity not passivity.
I am an advocate for Relevantly. Every time I get the opportunity, I speak to the policy makers at the state about the issues that are important to Preble County.
In addition to being an advocate for Preble County to the policy makers, I also believe that it is important to be an advocate to the people who can help Preble County by providing services to the people of the county.
I am an advocate for every individual person of Preble County. Each person of this county deserves the best representation possible. I listen to individuals and work to help them with the need at hand, whatever it is at that time.
The final way that I am an advocate for the people of Preble County is to be a good steward of the County’s resources. This is of vital importance. Whether it is about the financial, capital or human resources, good stewardship is a must. For me to be for something it has to make sense. If I cannot be convinced that the request is beneficial for the county, I will advocate for it. This may be cause for some differences in the group, but I think differences are better than mistakes. I believe this is what the people of the county expect of me.
